The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Latino (?)
The US federal commission has submitted a report calling for the creation of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino ( not sure this is really the name though, I have seen different ones) on the National Mall in Washington DC. The commission recommended US Congress provide around US$ 300,000 for the project - the total price has been estimated around US$600,000.
Read more on  NBC Washington and on SCPR
Read a critique of the project here, where Guy Garcia elaborates on how/why  the proposed museum is being attacked.
