Jeremy Deller's life-sized inflatable replica of Stonehenge for people to bounce on is set to begin a tour of 25 locations across the UK as part of London 2012 Festival.
I quite like the name he gave to the piece, it would indeed be a sacrilege! Good news, now you can do it!

Not sure I understand what you mean... Would it really be sacrilege considering the fact that they're not really bouncing on the real monument, but rather a replica?
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I would consider the fact that Stonehenge is used again for rituals by the Druids (in my opinion, a new religion) rather sacrilegious.
It's a pity it's not coming to Lincoln. It looks ridiculously appealing and I would certainly have tried it out if given the opportunity...
Hi there
ReplyDeleteI think I was being sarcastic about how precious everybody feels about the real site. I meant it would harm the site if we started bouncing on it, but obviously this is a bouncy replica.
I don't really have an opinion about the Druids other than they are one of many groups of stake holders and as such they have the right to express their opinions just like any other group.
But yes, it would be lovely to bounce on this! Not sure but it is possible this is only for kids! ;-(
